A couple of things worth opening before the first newsletter arrives. This time, there’s a new home for Astarion and a book that should be very hard to resist if you keep pausing Zelda to look at everything.

Well, Baldur’s Gate 3’s vampire companion isn’t done getting into trouble. Dark Horse has announced an ongoing comic, starting with a six-issue story that sends Astarion after a killer in Waterdeep.
Alyssa Wong is writing it, with pencils by Vincenzo Carratù, inks by Elisabetta D’Amico and colours by Valentina Taddeo. The first issue is due on 24 February 2027. And you don’t have to wait that long to see what it looks like: the announcement already includes covers by Gerald Parel, Scott Fischer, Angela Wu and Tyler Walpole.
That’s the bit I’d open first. Four artists, four versions of the same character, all in one gallery.

Tears of the Kingdom lets Link build vehicles, explore islands in the sky and descend beneath Hyrule. I want to see the drawings that got those places and machines onto the screen. Secrets of the Zonai looks like a very good place to start.
Dark Horse describes a 472-page hardcover with nearly 300 pages of sketches, concept art and development recollections. It also lists interviews with producer Eiji Aonuma, director Hidemaro Fujibayashi and art director Satoru Takizawa.
But check the date before preordering. The publisher currently lists 30 March 2027. This is one for the reading list, not something I’ve read and reviewed.
The 2025 art shelf has 40 artists to follow, and the development bookshelf has five public developer interviews and commentaries worth opening. The longer newsletter starts on Thursday 22 October.
