Astarion, the vampire companion from Baldur’s Gate 3, is getting a six-issue murder story. Dark Horse’s new ongoing comic begins with him hunting a killer in Waterdeep, a city in the game’s Forgotten Realms setting.
And he won’t have the series to himself. The publisher says later arcs will feature other companions, including Karlach, Wyll and Shadowheart.
What’s announced so far
The first arc is written by Alyssa Wong and pencilled by Vincenzo Carratù
Elisabetta D’Amico inks it, Valentina Taddeo handles colours and Buddy Beaudoin letters
Issue #1 is due in comic shops on 24 February 2027
The announcement shows four illustrated cover variants and a fifth, blank character-creation cover
I’m more interested in a new case for the companions than a panel-by-panel replay of a campaign. But this is an announcement, not a review. The artwork available now is the covers.
