Steam’s October Next Fest runs from 19 to 26 October 2026. Valve describes it as a chance to play free demos of unreleased games and interact with their developers.
This belongs on the at-home calendar. There is no reason to treat it like a conference trip, and a demo is not a promise that a finished game will launch with the same features.
How I’d use the week
I’d keep a small shortlist and give each game enough time to show what makes it different. If a visual idea catches your eye, look for the developer’s own explanation before treating a short demo as the whole design.
Wishlist anything you want to follow, but check the individual store page for platform support and release status. The festival landing page confirms the dates; the actual selection can change as developers prepare their builds.
